As the Honorable commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development in Kogi State, I recently joined my colleagues and sisters from other state at a training on Capacity Building for Hon. Commissioners of Women Affairs which was focused on establishing Resource Centres for Women in Governance and Decision-Making Positions. Held on August 13-14, 2024.

The event was organized by the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Abuja, in collaboration with UN Women and the Canadian government.

This empowering workshop equipped me with valuable knowledge, skills, and networks to support women’s participation in governance and decision-making processes. Moreover, it ignited my passion to contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.

I’m committed to applying the insights gained to mentor and coach more women in politics, fostering a culture of gender equality and representation. This experience has been truly transformative, and I look forward to making a positive impact.
